MANUAL OPERATING FERTILIZER DELIVERING MACHINE

Gopal Pandey

Introduction
Manual operating fertilizer delivering machine is purely an agro based machine with prime view to ease the fertilizing process in agricultural sector minimizing health hazardous consequences. This machine will be of manual operating type which will be used to deliver the fixed quantity of fertilizer to the plant.
The mechanism incorporated in this machine uses simple sliding mechanism with return spring system, thereby being perfectly suitable for growth of many crops.

Main Objectives
The main objective of my project is to design Manual operating Fertilizer Delivering Machine that someway contributes in agricultural growth reducing health hazard being caused by traditional fertilizer spraying techniques.

Specific Objectives
  • To analyze the existing fertilizer delivering machine.
  • To remove some of the problems in the field of farming due to handling of poisonous fertilizer.

 Literature Review
So far, in countries like Nepal, very little development has been done in terms of agricultural machines and technology. People still use conventional method of hand spraying dangerous health hazardous chemical fertilizer in almost every parts of the country.
There are many fertilizing machine in the world market nowadays but every machine have different problems; some are heavy, while others are costly and are not applicable and suitable in the hilly regions. Some of the machine are manual operating as well which can be used everywhere but the significant problem of cost and unavailability in the Nepalese market stand in the way.

Conventional Fertilizing methods

Some existing fertilizing machines are:

Problem Statement
The agricultural fertilizer spraying devices are very limited in number in terms of design and existing devices have not been so much effective to solve agricultural problems and also are not accessible to huge number of farmers for various reasons.

Working Principle
Initially the upper valve is opened and the lower valve is closed. Whenever the force are applied at the handles, the upper valve would be closed whereas the lower valve will open and fertilizer will be delivered to the designated location.
After delivering of the fertilizer, the return spring will push the sliding jaw against the applied force whose effect will cause the closing of lower valve and opening of the upper valve.
The volume of the lower chamber contains the volume of required fertilizer.

Proposed Design

Components of Manual fertilizer delivering machine
       body part
        sliding jaw
        return spring
        handles
        guiding body

Methodology
       Literature Review
       Design conceptualization
        Model analysis
        Design of Prototype
        Testing and analysis
        Report preparation

Expected outcome
The outcomes expected in this project is to deliver fixed amount of solid fertilizer as accurate as possible by manual handling in as least amount as possible reducing health hazardous effects.
